She’s loving the Rad life

She was Hollywood’s sweetheart for years, but Cameron Diaz has been quiet of late. It turns out the 47-year-old has been working on a different kind of project, as she announced last week that she and rock-star husband Benji Madden had welcomed a baby girl into their lives. Cameron shared the news with her Instagram followers, writing, “We are so blessed and grateful to begin this new decade by announcing the birth of our, daughter, Raddix Madden, She has instantly captured our hearts and completed our family.” An insider close to Cameron tells heat she is thrilled to have joined her showbiz pals in motherhood. “There’s definitely a sense of joy now that she’s finally made it to the Hollywood A-list mom club, and can share baby stories with the likes of Angelina Jolie, Kate Hudson, Julia Roberts, Sandra Bullock, Drew Barrymore, and so many other friends and colleagues. The other blessing is being able to share the parenting experience with Nicole [Richie] and Joel [Benji’s twin brother and Nicole’s husband].”

Cameron and Benji, 40, began dating in 2014 and were married in January 2015. Cameron’s last film role was as Miss Hannigan in 2014’s Annie she announced in 2018 that she had “actually retired” from acting. Our source says, “Cameron is adamant that she made the right move to back off from the limelight, and she has zero regrets about walking away. The brutal reality is that her heart simply wasn’t in it anymore, and she needed time to focus on her home life and starting a family with Benji.” The source adds that Cameron who is rumored to have had Raddix using a surrogate is planning on continuing her prolonged break from acting. “Her plan right now is to enjoy these precious early days and years with Raddix and see what happens, career-wise. She may yet come back to acting after a year or so, but it would take an incredible role for her to be interested, and she’s by no means talking about it just yet. Now, it’s all about soaking up the blissful experience of life as a new mum.”
