As an executive producer on the long-running (22 years and counting!) Law & Order: SVU, Mariska Hargitay, 57, has tasked the writers to come up with storylines featuring one of her favorite characters: defense attorney Trevor Langon, played by none other than her husband Peter Hermann. No wonder: “Mariska and Peter originally met and fell in love when Peter guest-starred on the show,” an industry insider tells. “She loves to keep that magic alive by bringing him back to play Trevor.”
Trouble is, the actor, 53, is busy with his own gigs as a series regular on TV Land’s Younger and his recurring role on Blue Bloods. “Peter loves working with his wife,” notes an industry insider.
“But he has his own acting career apart from Mariska.” Still, the handsome lawyer may soon have his day in court. “Peter Hermann understands how Mariska Hargitay feels,” says the insider, “and is trying to work his schedule to allow him some guest spots in the near future.”
