Felicity and William 35-year relationship nearly imploded as a result of her involvement in the college admissions scandal. But the pair got through it — with the help of therapy. “Bill’s original way of dealing with the backlash was, ‘This too shall pass.’ But Felicity was going through something much more profound,” a confidant tells Biggers Stars.“She felt that talking it out in a professional setting was the only way they could become whole again. Turns out the Shameless star, 69, and desperate housewives alum, 57, who’ve been married since 1997, had a lot of issues to iron out.“Their lines of communication got crossed,” the insider says. A pals are the same sentiment:“Over time, they became people they didn’t even recognize.” The pair also brought daughters Sophia,19, and Georgia,17, into some group sessions to process their emotions concerning their mother, who was arrested for paying $15K to boost her kids’ SAT scores and found guilty of fraud. (She served 11 days behind bars in October and must complete community service.)“It was a matter of Felicityowning up to what she’d done,” says the friend. Now the family looking forward to putting the ordeal behind them — together.“It’s been a very trying time for all of them, but they seem to be coming out the other side,” says the second pal.“It’s taken a lot of work, but it’s a testament to them.”
